Construction Youth Trust
The Construction Youth Trust’s mission is to support disadvantaged young people aged 14-30 into education, training and work in the construction industry. It works to remove barriers faced by young people entering the construction industry. Barriers can relate to such things as financial circumstances, lack of awareness of opportunities in the industry, low self-esteem, gender, ethnicity or past offending behaviour.
We support young people into both the trades and the professions and we work with partnerships that bridge the gap between communities and employment and make the journey to work as easy as possible and in doing so expose employers to talent they might not otherwise see.
Our programmes cover awareness raising, introductory skills training, work placements and job brokerage. We operate across England and wales with offices in Manchester, Birmingham, London and Cardiff.
CYT are also working on a large industry led project called BuildForce, whose sole aim is to encourage service leavers into Construction. This program is open to Service Leavers of all ages.
