Microsoft devised its Partner Apprenticeship programme in 2008 to provide an alternative route into a career in ICT as well as meeting the requirements of its network of over 33,000 UK business partners. It has been running nationally for over 3 years, is a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship awarded by City & Guilds, and has placed over 3,700 apprentices into the national ICT workforce. The vast majority of these roles are within Microsoft’s Partner Network (MPN) which includes companies that support, develop and resell Microsoft technologies. They are all independent of Microsoft, range in size from micro to global and are located across the UK.
How we can help you
Working with Baltic Apprenticeships, Microsoft has developed a unique programme specifically aimed at returning Service personnel. Utilising Baltic's multi-award winning, Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ training, the programme is designed to let you spend more time on the IT frontline and less time in the training room.
The apprenticeship will cover roles such as:
- First line/helpdesk support
- ICT technician
- Systems administrator
- Junior network support
- Junior Developer
We can provide you with the qualifications that demonstrate to employers that you have a strong grasp of the IT knowledge and theory required to do your job, and that you can put it into practice at work.
The programme lasts one year minimum and apprentices are employed from day one. The Microsoft Partner Apprenticeship is regarded as the ‘flagship’ of Microsoft’s employment initiatives, from the previous initiative, Britain Works to its current one, Get On.
