The Port of Felixstowe is the UK’s busiest container port and one of the largest in Europe. Operating a dedicated container terminal which handles over 3 million TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) a year. Over 40% of the UK’s import and export trade passes through the Port of Felixstowe, and its road and rail connections link it to the country’s major markets. Approximately 33 shipping use the port offering over 90 services and covering some 365 ports around the world. The Port operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It takes a workforce of almost 3,000 to ensure that the port’s day-to-day operations run smoothly. The port boasts teams of dedicated people, skilled in roles ranging from plant driving, systems development, planning, mechanical and electronic engineering, rail operations, yard control and stevedoring to service the world’s largest container vessels.
