Individual WIS
What is the CTP Assist portal?
The CTP Assist portal advertises a
wide range of vocational opportunities, which are sourced by the CTP Employer Engagement
Team from a wide range of partner organisations, charities and employers. The
aim of these opportunities is to aid you in your transition from life in the
military to a civilian career.
We have opportunities across most industry sectors, spanning the whole of the
UK. As well as the specific opportunities advertised on the portal, many of our
partners are also able to provide additional opportunities, so make sure you
also take a look at the list
of partners to
find out more about what they can offer.
If what you are looking for isn’t currently on the site, get in touch. We are
able to generate requests to deliver bespoke opportunities in line with your
IRP. So if you have identified a partner but they don’t have the specific
opportunity you’re looking for, or if you are interested in a particular
organisation and they are not listed as a partner, then please get in touch as
we may be able to approach them on your behalf.

What is the benefit of engaging with the CTP Assist portal?
A variety of opportunities are available on the CTP Assist portal to help you develop the skills and experience you need to make a positive transition from a military to a civilian career. Often undertaken pre-discharge, the opportunities are an ideal way for you to spend time with a civilian organisation, whilst still being paid by the military. The opportunities can last from one day to several months, and can:
- Help you to identify, embrace or eliminate different career opportunities beyond the Armed Forces
- Help you to develop skills and experience for future employment
- Help aid the transition back to work following a lengthy recovery
- Offer invaluable experience of civilian work environments
- Help with understanding and accessing training and career development opportunities
How do you get the best out of the CTP Assist portal?
Under your profile section there is a dedicated place for you to upload your IRP and CV to the site.
By adding your skills, experience, desired locations and desired industry you will be able to match your preferences with the opportunities on offer. Any ‘matches’ will be sent directly to your email inbox. To get the best out of the matching service, you should try to make your criteria as specific as possible – it is better to be notified of a few suitable opportunities than a 100 opportunities that are not right for you. To update your alerts, click ‘view’ and change your search criteria.
